چکیده
Underwater exploration or inspection requires suitable robotic systems capable of maneuvering, manipulating objects, and operating untethered in complex environmental conditions. Traditional robots have been used to perform many tasks underwater. However, they limited degrees freedom, manipulation capabilities, portability, disruptive interactions with aquatic life. Research soft robotics seeks incorporate ideas the natural flexibility agility species into man-made technologies improve current capabilities using biomimetics. In this paper, we present a novel design, fabrication, testing results an underwater robot known as Kraken that has tentacles mimic arm movement octopus. To control motion, utilizes hybrid actuation technology consisting stepper motors twisted coiled polymer fishing line muscle (TCPFL). TCPs are becoming one promising due their high stroke, force, lightweight, low cost. We studied different stiffness configurations tailored operate modalities (curling, twisting, bending), shape grasp irregular objects delicately. uses onboard battery, wireless programmable joystick, buoyancy system for depth control, all housed three-layer 3D printed dome-like structure. Here, fully functioning Olympic-size swimming pool its servo actuated other test on TCPFL laboratory setting. work, embedded actuator within elastomer proposed octopus-like along performance structures.

Micro-stepping for Stepper Motors
Stepper motor performance can be compromised by noise and vibration, but an advanced high-torque micro-stepping algorithm can minimise the impact of both noise and vibration as well as increasing the resolution of the rotations. The embedded microcontroller which hosts the micro-stepper algorithm also provides additional flexibility to integrate current-limiting as well as adjusting the drive c...

In this paper we present a system that allows patients with motor disabilities to grasp everyday objects. A closed-loop Brain– Machine Interface (BMI) instantiates a connection between the human central nervous system and an industry robot designed to execute the grasping task. Two central problems were addressed in this paper, namely I) the implementation of a BMI to translate a subject’s volu...
متن کاملTorque Ripple Minimization in Hybrid Stepper Motors Using Acceleration Measurements ?
Hybrid stepper motors (HSMs) are commonly used in many cost-sensitive industrial and consumer applications. With the use of micro-stepping techniques, they could theoretically achieve a very high resolution in positioning of mechanical loads, even without position sensors. However, it is well known that HSMs are affected by a large torque ripple, due to cogging and phase unbalancing. This, in t...
